Your True Identity

NOVEMBER 1ST, 2020      |      A current trend is to explore your ancestry through various Internet sources, discovering your “true identity.” In the past, families recited their ancestry from great grandparents to grandparents to parents, etc. In the United States, many families who arrived several generations ago were content to be “Americans” and assimilated into the new culture and language; they weren’t as concerned with their roots as many people are today.

No matter where your human roots lead you, as a Christian, you can trace your very beginning to the Creator, your heavenly Father, who birthed you into His family where you are always welcome, always loved, always only a prayer away from Him. “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!” (1 John 3:1 NIV). During your lifetime, you may have enjoyed wonderful parents and grandparents, or you may have endured a dysfunctional family environment. Either way, God’s love supersedes any previous experiences. “Know therefore that the Lord your God is God; he is the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments,” (Deuteronomy 7:9 NIV).

Father God loves you. Although He has a world full of children, He loves you as if you are the only one!

And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month; and they recited their ancestry by families, by their fathers’ houses…each one individually.

Pray that your life will reflect the love that your heavenly Father showers you with daily (John 13:34 NIV).

Thank God for His never-ending love, grace, and mercy toward you (2 John 3 NIV).
