I delight greatly in the Lord; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of righteousness…. –Isaiah 61:10 NIV
Your Robe of Righteousness
Many parents take great pride in making sure that when their children leave the house, wherever they are going, that they are well-groomed. That means clean, well-pressed clothing, without blemish or wrinkle.
In the same way, our heavenly Father has taken great joy and pride and has clothed us with a “robe of his righteousness” (Isaiah 61:10). Church, we are “a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation” (1 Peter 2:9).
Let us delight greatly in the Lord and rejoice with all our hearts, because our Father in Heaven, through the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, has taken great pleasure in arraying us in the beauty and splendor of His righteousness. We have been washed in the precious blood of Jesus—made white as snow. He has arrayed us with garments of praise instead of despair; He has clothed us in beauty instead of ashes.
So, come on, let us delight greatly in the Lord and let our souls rejoice in our Triune God. Let us proudly wear our robes of righteousness. Glory be His name. Amen.
Father, I thank You for loving me so much by honoring me with Your robe of righteousness. Help me to stay faithful in You.
My sweet Holy Spirit, thank You for purifying me daily. Thank You for Your daily companionship and fellowship.
