But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong. –1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV
Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future, because we all share the same flawed nature. We’ve all fallen short, missed the mark—but everything can be forgiven by grace. None of us are better than anyone else, and none of us are worse—we are all works in progress. Our weaknesses can become our greatest strengths when we use them to lift others up, not put them down.
There are no perfect people, only people being perfected. When we walk in this truth, love abounds and hate is dispelled. Remember, we’re all in this together. Love each other, and love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. It really is that simple. The greatest victories often arise from the ashes of our biggest fail- ures. Throughout Scripture God used men and women just like us to accomplish great things, and His name was glorified. It’s when we stop seeking our own glory that we experience the pure joy of finding His.
Today is a new day, yesterday’s failures are past, and tomorrow’s worries will take care of themselves. When we are weak, He is strong; wisdom dares to be foolish.
- Don’t let condemnation keep you from seeking God. His grace is sufficient. You are a work in progress.
- Trust in God’s forgiveness and grace. Where sin abounds, grace abounds even more.
