Wisdom Come to Life | Saturday | December 8

Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. –James 3:13 NIV

How do we live a life of wisdom? There are proverbs about what we should or should not do sprinkled throughout the Bible, including an entire book about wisdom. However, the reality of how to live a life of wisdom can still evade us.

James reminds us about how we should choose to behave: “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom…. But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere”(James 3:14,17 NIV).

When we love peace, act submissively, aim for purity, and are considerate—with humble hearts—we are actually living out a life of wisdom. Today, when you are kind and thoughtful in a humble manner, you are living a life of wisdom. When you are merciful and extending grace, you are being wise.

O Father, thank You for giving us the opportunity to be wise simply by living out the lives You’ve called us to enjoy!

Prayer Focus

1) Thank God that He is the source of all wisdom and understanding.
2) Ask Him to open your eyes to ways that you can live out His wisdom.
