When You Can’t See Fruit

JUNE 17th, 2022      |    Usually, a lack of spiritual fruit is due to some personal shortcoming. Sin, neglect, selfishness, and distraction all play roles in inhibiting growth; and those cases often require a lot of hard work to get life back to where it needs to be. But, even for you who are faithful, dedicated, and disciplined, having remained steadfast and unswerving, much fruit may not always be visible. You may wonder if something is wrong, perhaps something buried so deep that it’s beyond your ability to see. Do not be discouraged, faithful one. There may not be anything wrong. Your real need is only to be patient and wait. The reality is that fruit doesn’t often appear for a very long time; and it may look quite different from what you’d expect. What is often difficult to accept is the truth that the fruit may not reveal itself at all during your lifetime. But that doesn’t mean that your life and ministry aren’t important, valuable, and crucial to God’s plan. So be encouraged! God knows your heart, and He has not abandoned you. Hang on. Be faithful in the little things. Be confident in God’s promise that faithfulness always produces fruit.

When You Can’t See Fruit

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

–Galatians 6:9 NKJV

Usually, a lack of spiritual fruit is due to some personal shortcoming.

God, help me to trust that You are working, even when I can’t see anything happening.

Jesus, encourage my heart. Strengthen me to continue in faithfulness.
