JANUARY 29TH, 2021 | Labor pains, the worst pain a woman can feel, are quickly forgotten in light of her newborn in her arms. Forgiveness has the same effect. When you forgive, the formation of toxins in your heart, mind, and body cease because the root of bitterness is gone from your life.
Just like the pain of labor, nothing prepares you for the process of wholehearted forgiveness. Once you’ve let the offenses go, you’re instantly filled up with love, deep, unconditional Father God love.
The song “It Is Well” by Horatio G. Spafford says, “My sin not in part but the whole, is nailed to the cross, and I bare it no more. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, oh my soul.” These lyrics are just a glimpse of the grace and love that flows all over all who wholeheartedly choose to forgive.
The pain of the sin that was committed against you, as well as the pain of letting it go, is so faint that you hardly remember it existed. Once you’re filled with joy and such a deep understanding of your Daddy’s love for you, anything that happened before is barely a shadow, not even a blurred memory.
What’s in Your Heart?
…For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
–Matthew 12:34 ESV

Thank God for His grace and His outpouring of love.
If there is someone you need to forgive, ask the Holy Spirit to help you walk through the process of forgiveness.
