What Is Easter Really About?

APRIL 2ND, 2021      |     As you celebrate Easter this year what comes to mind? Is it coloring eggs in pretty pastel colors and creating candy-filled Easter baskets? Or taking the children to see the Easter Bunny and having the family for dinner on Easter Sunday? There is nothing wrong with traditions that have been celebrated through the years.

However, don’t lose sight that Easter is the celebration of the day Jesus was resurrected. Easter is the realization that Jesus died for us and rose again. Easter is about Jesus taking your place on the Cross and bearing all our sin. Jesus being crucified demonstrates a love for us that only He was able to give. Nails did not hold Jesus to the Cross, love did. Jesus was born to die and to rise again.

Without the resurrection there is no hope—eternity centers on this belief. No matter what tomorrow may hold, when Jesus rose from the grave, He paved a way for all of us to handle whatever life presents. So, enjoy traditions, but more importantly remember what Easter is really about.

What Is Easter Really About?

The angel said to the women, “Do not be afraid, for I know that you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay.

–Matthew 28:5-6 NIV

Jesus conquered death, giving you hope for your future and faith.
