Wednesday | November 20 | The Woman in the Mirror

You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God. –1 Peter 3:4 NLT

As we age, we look into the mirror and see the lines of time. Speaking from a woman’s point of view, we see a young girl full of hopes and dreams. We see a new mom who wants to do everything right.

We see a woman working to forge her place in the world, trying to make a difference so she’ll feel like her life mattered. There’s a woman who wants to love and be loved, who cares deeply even becoming hurt in the meantime. She’s not afraid of tough love, even when no one understands her.

She stands for her convictions, even when the world is against her. Then she’s a grandmother who loves her grandchildren more than life. The amazing thing is that inside that grandmother the young woman still exists. In her daughter she sees a stronger, bolder, more vibrant version of herself, and smiles.

The truth is that the real you, the hidden person of the heart, is ageless. Our passions know no age, never diminish, never end. The real you, in Christ, lives forever. When we leave this earth, we simply pass on to the next generation our love. The circle of life, it never ends.

Prayer Focus

  • Don’t focus on the outer beauty, for the body is withering. See the true beauty inside as your heavenly Father does.
  • You are fearfully and wonderfully made. Believe it.
