We Are Powerless Without God

We are never in full control of our lives. We don’t know what even today will bring—let alone tomorrow. We plan and dream, but then reality sets in and dreams and plans never come to fruition. The important thing to realize is that the only One who knows our tomorrow is God.

Psalm 121:7-8 (NIV) tells us, “The Lord will keep you from all harm—he will watch over your life; the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.” God’s power is unlimited but different from what we might expect. We may plead for an end to our troubles, but He gives us strength to endure.

We seek self-importance, but we receive grace that humbles us. We ask for more time here on earth, but He offers us eternity. Our power will give out, but Isaiah 40:31 (NLT) says, “But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint.”

In our own strength, we are all powerless, but with God’s mighty power given to us no problem or situation according to His will is impossible.

Praise be to God; our power comes from Him through His Holy Spirit.

Thank God that His power is always available for the believer.
