Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. –Psalm 27:14 NIV
There are times when you are in a rut—waiting for a change in your circumstances. Waiting can be painful and hard. Family and friends try to encourage you by telling you to put it behind you, smile, and think good thoughts; but this is not always the answer. Sometimes you are just stuck.
You know that God holds your life in His hand, He cares and knows every hair on your head, and He has a plan for you; yet, anxiety takes hold and does not pass. Waiting is one of the key principles of Christian living. We see it throughout the Bible. Look at Abraham and Rebecca, Joseph, and Job and how they long waited for good to come. It was not easy; but in the end, their hope in God was revealed during the years of waiting.
Cling to Him and wait well. Asking for His peace during your waiting. Whatever you need, God can take care of it. He does it because as Philippians 4:19 (NLT) tells you, “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Waiting can be difficult, but the outcome is usually worth it.
Lord, You have the power to calm the storms in my life. Help me as I wait.
Rest in the Lord and trust Him for answers.
