The Ultimate Sacrifice

MAY 31ST, 2021      |      Today is a day when we remember the men and woman who valiantly served our country and gave the ultimate sacrifice. To all our military, thank you for your service! We are so appreciative of all you and your family sacrifice so that we might be free. 

Abraham Lincoln’s “Gettysburg Address” reminds us that we must not let our military’s sacrifices be in vain: “The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here…It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us—that from these honored dead we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of devotion—that we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain—that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom—and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.” Let us never forget those who gave so selflessly that we might have freedom of speech, freedom to bear arms, freedom of religion, and freedom from foreign rule! 

Just as so many of our brave military men and women laid down their lives for our country, so too did Jesus lay down His life for us. He did it that we might be free of sin and death. Jesus, thank You for Your ultimate sacrifice!

Father, thank You for our brave military members and their families, who have given so much for our country so that we might all be free!
