Thanksgiving Day!

NOVEMBER 25TH, 2021      |     In 1620, about 100 people left England on the Mayflower, seeking religious freedom and opportunities in America. The next year, in the fall of 1621, they were so thankful to God for His provision that they celebrated by sharing a harvest feast with the native inhabitants of the region, known now as the first Thanksgiving gathering. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln officially set aside the last Thursday in November to commemorate this holiday, which is celebrated in both the United States and Canada.

Thanksgiving Day is an annual tradition when family and friends gather to share a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. While gathered around the table, some like to share what they are thankful for, recounting each and every blessing in their lives. About the Thanksgiving Day festivities, Pastor Billy Graham said, “If I were to list all the things for which I am thankful, I’d never have time to eat my turkey dinner.”

In life, there will always be things to complain about, but there is also so much for which to be thankful. Don’t let giving thanks to God be overlooked. On this Thanksgiving Day, may He find us with thankful hearts. Our heavenly Father blesses us with His constant goodness and His steadfast love. This is truly worthy of giving thanks!

Thanksgiving Day!

Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Pray and ask the Father to fill your heart with thankfulness on a daily basis not just on Thanksgiving Day.

Give thanks! There is always something for which to be thankful (1 Thessalonians 5:18).
