Tears in a Bottle

JUNE 26TH, 2020      |        Every nation, tongue, and tribe has some sort of ceremony for burial. Long before it became customary for people to send flowers to a funeral, it is said that they somehow captured their tears in a bottle and gave to them to the grieving family. That would definitely be harder than just ordering flowers.

It was their way of sharing others’ grief and showing respect. Psalm 56:8 says, “You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.”

Think about that for a minute. No tear that you have ever cried has gone unnoticed by your heavenly Father. Every sorrow that you have ever carried is recorded in His book. Everything that affects you also affects the Father. When you hurt, He hurts—that’s how much He loves you.

He has sent His precious Holy Spirit to be your Comforter because He loves you. Jesus told His disciples that unless He went away, the Comforter couldn’t come. Jesus could only be in one place as a Man, so the Father sent His Holy Spirit to live inside you. Amazing love, amazing Father.

Tears in a Bottle

You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each on in your book.

You are not alone. The Father sees and hears your heart’s cry. Listen, can’t you hear Him calling you to peace.

Take your hurts to Jesus and leave them at His feet. He will dry every tear. He will calm every fear.
