The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. –Exodus 14:14 NIV
If you’ve been a Christian for more than five minutes, you know what it’s like to go through a spiritual battle. At the time, your troubles seem insurmountable, your faith weak, your strength gone. However, when victory comes, you finally see that the Father was there all the time.
You are able to see how He was working when you thought He had left you. Your faith is stronger, hope is restored, and growth comes. It’s not in times of peace, but in the heat of the battle that we truly discover what we’re made of, and where our confidence lies. It’s in the heat of the battle that we dig deep and find a strength we never knew we had.
During times of battle, a nation pulls together for the good of all, determined to overcome the enemy of our freedom. In our personal battles, we too have an ally. The Father works with us to protect the freedom of our hearts, souls, and minds. The battle is the Lord’s, and we will not be overcome.
We can rest in His strength. Victory is guaranteed if we persevere. Don’t give up; don’t get discouraged. The battle is the Lord’s (1 Samuel 17:47).
- Battles will come, but we’re not fighting them alone. Let the Father fight your battles for you.
- Defeat isn’t in our vocabulary. Fight the good fight of faith.
