Stay in the Boat

NOVEMBER 9TH, 2021      |     Little ships, large waves, and hurricane-force winds are not a good mix, usually resulting in disaster. Such was the case of the disciples as they set out to cross the Sea of Galilee. Due to its geographical location, the Sea of Galilee was often prone to violent storms that could form suddenly and without warning. Fierce winds coming down from the eastern mountains could quickly turn a tranquil sea into a raging storm.

Even though the disciples were seasoned fishermen, they were terrified; but Jesus was not. In their desperation, they could not believe that He could sleep right through their impending peril.

So it is when we are hit with the storms of life. Out of nowhere the wind of Satan’s lies and the waves of fear produced by those lies turn us into a sea of turmoil. Only Jesus can silence the wind and the waves with a single word. Yes, there will be times when Jesus wants us to get out of the boat and walk on water. But when the tempests of life threaten to drown us, the safest place to be is in the bottom of the boat with Jesus!

Stay in the Boat

And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships. And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.

–Mark 4:36-37 KJV

Use the same authority given to you by Jesus to speak directly to the wind and the waves of the enemy.

Ask the Holy Spirit to be your Comforter when you want to abandon ship. Give thanks for the times He has come to your rescue.
