Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will. –Romans 12:2 NIV
Did you know you are capable of changing the way you think? Most of us go through the day letting our brain wander from thought to thought believing that we are a “glass half full” or “glass half empty” kind of person. We settle for our thoughts being “how we are born.” Scripture will tell you exactly the opposite. You can transform yourself into having the mind of Christ by training your mind to think the way God thinks.
Renewing your mind means to make it new again, by filling it with truth from God’s Word. You can choose what you read and what you hear. Speak life into your day by declaring faith-filled, positive promises from God. Post them on your mirrors, refrigerator and walls. Stand in agreement with what He says about who you are and His plan for your life. It may feel uncomfortable at first, but it becomes more and more natural as we declare it out loud.
Negative thoughts produce negative words, bad moods and most of the time, a pretty miserable day. When you begin to train your mind to dwell on His Words of affirmation, and think faith-filled thoughts, scripture promises you will be able to test and approve God’s good, pleasing, and perfect will. Now that’s a good day!
