Seeking the Bridegroom When Trouble Mounts

But from there you will seek the LORD your God, and you will find Him if you search for Him with all your heart and all your soul. -Deuteronomy 4:29 NASB

The original role of the wedding party was for protection, and later for encouragement, of the bride. Regardless of the role you wanted your wedding party to play, the bridegroom longs to be both protection and encouragement for His bride.

This scripture says God has not forsaken those who seek Him. To seek means, “to tread with feet; to go to a place; to frequent;” also “to study; to follow.” The more frequently we sit with our bridegroom, the more likely we are to trust what He says and follow where He leads.

Perhaps today you are struggling. Maybe disease, conflict, or financial struggles have hit you or your family. Don’t ignore what your bridegroom is saying to you. Now is the time to go to Him, to hear and to follow what He has to say, remembering that He longs to protect and encourage His Bride.

Today’s verse says that when you seek God,  you will find Him. Isn’t that an awesome promise? Seek Him today and He will show up.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that you will always seek after God.
  • Ask God to help you remember He’s your help, protector, encourager, and leader.
