Seek & Find

OCTOBER 27TH, 2020      |      Whatever you’re looking for, you’ll eventually find! Did you know that’s true no matter what you’re seeking? That’s why you need to be careful about what you think and to what you become emotionally attached. When you allow your heart to long for things that are clearly outside the guidelines of Scripture, it won’t be long until your mind devises a way to get them, and your feet lead you to find them. A different way to say it would be, your desires will guide your actions.

However, the good news for believers is that this principle can work for instead of against you. If your heart’s desire is to find the Lord and know Him, then Scripture assures you that you will find the intimacy and fulfillment you seek. It’s His promise! (Jeremiah 29:13) This is why you need to be careful what you allow your mind to consider and learn to regularly police your thoughts and desires so that you will seek and find the right things. Psalm 119:9 (NIV) says it very plainly: “How can a young person stay on the path of purity? By living according to your [God’s] word.”

Seek & Find

Whoever eagerly seeks good searches for good will, but whoever looks for evil finds it.

God, help me sift my thoughts so that less worthy things do not compete with Your rightful place in my life.

Jesus, give me a heart for You that will guide my steps and order my thoughts today and every day.
