Satan Wants To Isolate You

“I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you. I said, ‘You are my servant’; I have chosen you and have not rejected you.” -Isaiah 41:9 NIV

First Satan strikes, then He aims to isolate. 1 Peter 5:8 refers to Satan as “a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” He wants you to be ashamed and embarrassed, angry and resentful, powerless and hopeless. He doesn’t want you in church, small groups, or reading the Word of God.

He wants you to believe that your sins are too hideous to bring to light and too heinous for God to forgive. It’s the perfect scheme to get you on your own and turn from the healing power of God.

The good news is that you have a loving God that created you to be in relationship with others. He not only wants you to cast your burdens on Him as it says in Psalm 55:22 but also on those He places in your life.

Have you detached yourself from friends or family? Are you ashamed of something in your past? Do you believe that your sins are too big for God to forgive?

Remember that you have a Father who loves you regardless of your mistakes. He created you. He molded you and made you the beautiful person you are. Listen to Him say, “I have chosen you and have not rejected you.”

When Satan tries to isolate you, remind Him of the person you are in Christ. You are forgiven, sanctified, justified, reborn, and rebuilt. What happened in the past is forgotten and what you now have is a future full of hope and promise.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray that God will put people in your path to help you through the tough times.
  • Ask God to protect you from Satan’s snares.
