Queen for a Day

AUGUST 4th, 2022     |    From 1956 to 1964, there was a popular game show on TV called, “Queen for A Day.” It was a precursor for reality TV, hosted by Jack Bailey. Women would reveal their very personal stories to the American public, and the audience would choose the most heart-wrenching account by the use of an applause-o-meter.

The winner was given a crown, a robe, and roses. She was then given prizes from the sponsors of the show. It was a rags-to-riches Cinderella story, and everyone loved it. But only one woman was chosen as Queen. We all have a story, and God has been with us through every heart-wrenching moment of it. In Christ, we have each become the winner of eternal life.

He gives us the robe of His righteousness, and He “crowns [us] with love and compassion” (Psalm 103:4 NIV). Our Lord Jesus turns no one away. The Apostle Paul proclaimed in Philippians 3:14 (NIV), “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Everyone who comes to our Lord leaves a winner. We can be Queen/King-for-a-day no more, but for all of eternity. Praise the Lord!

Queen for a Day

I delight greatly in the LORD; my soul rejoices in my God. For he has clothed me with garments of salvation and arrayed me in a robe of his righteousness. –Isaiah 61:10 NIV

Thank the Lord that you are a child of the King. Thank Jesus that you are worthy of the calling.

Approach the Lord today in humility and patience.

JANUARY 2ND, 2021      |     You are not a quitter! Winning is in your DNA. Before you were born, you were destined for greatness. Don’t stop now. You need to be the person God designed you to be. Get up and take your rightful place.

God has already redeemed the time for you. He is right there with you, cheering you as you go. Hear Him now: “You can do it, My child. You are already victorious through My righteous right hand. I destined you to win.”

Every battle won’t be easy, but the struggles you face will be worth it. They are present to strengthen your resolve, to teach and train your hands to war. There is a fighter in you. Fight until you see victory. Fight on, knowing you are never alone.

Pep Talk

And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

Ask God to infuse you with inner strength.

Ask God to help you move from a place of fear to a place of confident hope.
