Prepared, Part 1

You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies….

–Psalm 23:5 NKJV

When something is prepared, it’s “put in proper condition or readiness,” it’s arranged or “put in order” (dictionary.com; blueletterbibible.org). How many times have you gone through something, but it was only on looking back that you saw the various ways that God was preparing you for your current season?

Perhaps a job loss, though painful and stressful at the time, gave you the opportunity to help a sick loved one or caused you to start the career you always dreamed of doing. Perhaps the challenges you faced with your children gave you the compassion and passion to help others walking through similar circumstances.

God is preparing the table—the means, the needs, the blessings, the supply—and He’s doing it all for you, His beloved child. No matter what you’re going through today, trust that God is with you and He will use your circumstances for your good and His glory.

Prayer Focus

  • Ask God to show you how He’s prepared you to be successful in this season.
  • Thank God for using your current circumstances to help you be successful in the future.
