Pregnant With Vision

Until the time that his word came to pass, the word of the Lord tested him.

-Psalm 105:19 KJV

Waiting for a promise or vision to be fulfilled is like being pregnant. It’s accompanied by excitement and planning, while your heart is full of hopes and dreams for the vision you’re carrying. All visions include a waiting period and a growth process, and they bring some discomfort to one degree or another. Vision also brings growing pains as God grooms and prepares you to move into that vision.

Waiting for a vision to come to pass can test your faith and patience. Many times people in the Bible received a promise or vision from the Lord, but their lives proceeded to go in the opposite direction. However, those detours were used to prepare them for the fulfillment of the promise or vision.

If you’re pregnant with vision and feeling tired, uncomfortable and restless, just remember there’s a set time on God’s agenda for its fulfillment. If you think there’s been a misunderstanding on your part, just remember God’s not confused. Things may not happen like you thought, but after being tested the Word of the Lord will come to pass in your life.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for grace as you go through the process of waiting and growing while God prepares you for the vision He’s given you.
  • Ask God to help you continue trusting Him when you’re feeling tired, uncomfortable and restless.
