Pieces of A Dream

The weapons of the strong are smashed to pieces, while the weak are infused with fresh strength. -1 Samuel 2:4 MSG

In the story of Samuel’s birth, God repurposed Hannah’s dream for a child and gave her fresh strength to conceive him because God delights in repairing broken lives and restoring broken dreams.

Even if you only have pieces of a dream, you can still reclaim it. Your dream might have a different focus now, but you can renew it and pursue it right where you are today. As you pray for insight, the new version of your dream may have more meaning now than it did originally.

The Enemy of your soul may use his weapons to shatter dreams and break hearts, but God can make a way to put the pieces of your dream back together. The dreams you once had may now seem out of reach or out of focus, but often you can discover a new significance when you revisit and repurpose them. Now is the time to renew your dreams with the wisdom, knowledge and life experience you have gained.

Start keeping a journal of what those dreams were; identify what you want to accomplish now and enlist some godly accountability partners to help you follow through on your goals. Daily bring the pieces of your dream to God and pray for fresh strength in making those dreams a reality.

Prayer Focus

  • Pray for insight and fresh strength to pursue a new version of your dream that beckons you to revisit and repurpose it.
  • Ask the Lord for wisdom regarding the right people to enlist as your accountability partners in accomplishing your goals.
