Persistent Faith

DECEMBER 29TH, 2020      |      Jesus spoke these words to a woman who requested healing for her daughter: “Your faith is large and your request is granted.” The disciples urged Jesus to send her away because they claimed she was bothering Him with her begging. Ever feel like that? Sometimes asking over and over for the same thing seems pointless. Maybe you think God just doesn’t hear you and you may as well stop begging. It may be days, months, or years of asking for the same request. God heard this woman’s persistent prayer and He will hear yours.

Persistent prayer is a common theme in Scripture, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective” (James 5:16 NIV). Jesus said to ask, seek, and knock and the door will be opened (Matthew 7:7). Faith is the key that moves God’s hand. Over and over in the Scriptures we see Jesus responding to people’s deepest needs. The Bible encourages that, “if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us” (1 John 5:14 NKJV). Be assured that when you pray, God is looking at the persistence of your faith. He is working when you can’t see Him. Keep praying; your miracle is on the way.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you have persistent faith to believe that all things are possible with Him.

Thank God in advance for all that He is doing in your life, even when you can’t see it.
