But the gateway to life is very narrow and the road is difficult, and only a few ever find it. – Matthew 7:14 NLT
Our Present World
Our world is changing but not for the good. Conflict and unforgiveness seems to be the norm. Social media changed our way of life both positively and negatively. It is very apparent that we live in difficult times.
We become fearful of the daily barrage of adverse news media and the conflicting reports about our government. Even within the church family, there are so many different views. Many people are living in unrest because people question everything they believe. Right looks wrong, and wrong looks right; and we wonder, Why is God allowing these things to happen? We are confused, but God knows exactly His purpose for each situation. However, this is often not within the scope of our human understanding.
We must take our eyes off what we see, and believe that God is all powerful even when our world looks bleak. We have hope in a Savior whom we can trust as He tells us in John 17:16 (NLT), “They do not belong to this world any more than I do” and 1 John 4:4 (ESV), “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Praise God!
Ask God to help you be in the world but not of the world.
Thank God our trials are temporary as we await Jesus’ return, who is our hope for eternity.
