Not-So-Golden Years

He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever. –Revelation 21:4 NLT

Not-So-Golden Years

If we are blessed to be in our “golden years,” we may be feeling that they are not so golden. We probably are experiencing many losses. We also may be questioning our significance. In some cases, we feel our purpose is gone. There are health issues as part of the aging process, and, ultimately, we all suffer from it.

We must remember that this is only a season in life. What we can look forward to is the day when we go home to be with the Lord. Then our worn-out bodies will be changed. Just as Philippians 3:21 (NLT) tells us, “He will take our weak mortal bodies and change them into glorious bodies like his own, using the same power with which he will bring everything under his control.”

Our earthly bodies are left behind, and our spirits ascend to Heaven. Isaiah 46:4 (NLT) says, “I will be your God throughout your lifetime—until your hair is white with age. I made you, and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.”

The golden years are a step away from eternity, and this is hope to our hearts. God’s final gift is for us to be with Him.

Thank God that our final season is with Him in eternity.

Praise God that these earthly bodies will one day be perfect in Heaven.
