JANUARY 1ST, 2021 | Another year has ended and a new one has begun. A new beginning, a new you, a fresh start, and a different way to live. All brought to you by your New Years Resolution! (Insert big toothy smile here). Most of us have played this game before. We make promises to ourselves and at first it’s going well but as time goes by (usually quickly), the pact you made with yourself gets broken until finally you fall back into the old routine of how you do things. And it doesn’t stop there. At some point we reflect about the resolution we made ten days ago and ask ourselves,”Well that flopped. Where did I go wrong and why can’t I just be consistent and committed?”
Where we usually go wrong is we don’t include Jesus in the plan. We are so focused on desiring to live life differently, we forget to ask God for guidance and strength to follow through. Sometimes, it may not dawn on us to include Him.
It’s more than ok to have a plan and to make a commitment to something that is going to enrich our lives but let’s include God to guarantee success.
New Year, New You, Right?
“A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”

New Years resolutions are great but include God into the plan so that you will be more successful in your endeavors.
Ask God for strength when you feel yourself slipping away from the commitment you made to yourself to be a better you.
