Mount Zion

Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. – Psalm 125:1 NKJV

What is the significance of Mount Zion? It is the highest point in ancient Jerusalem. But, more importantly, it is a symbol of the Promised Land. It is the place where God’s people have found a fortress and refuge, a safe haven in the Lord’s presence. If we trust in the Lord and depend on Him wholeheartedly, we too will be in a safe haven where the Presence of God will protect us. Psalm 91:1- 2 (NIV) says, “Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.”We need to grab a hold of this truth. When we live our lives completely and implicitly trusting the Lord, His Presence and hand of protection will be upon us. When our trust is unshakable, like Mount Zion, no tempest can move us.Throughout the storms of life, in the shadow of the Almighty God, we can be still and know that He is with us, and protecting us, during the most difficult times we will face.

prayer focuses

Lord, when I am down, help me to find the joy from You that is buried deep within my heart.

Lord, help me to lead others to the joy that can only be found in You.
