For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for the attaining of all steadfastness and patience; joyously giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in Light. -Colossians 1:9-12
Have you heard of the 10/40 window? It’s the area between 10 and 40 degrees north of the equator reaching from Northern Africa west to Asia with the highest concentration of unreached people for Jesus. The area is home to more than 5,500 people groups totaling more than 3 billion. In addition, the area is home to the majority of the world’s impoverished people.
Terror groups like ISIS and Al Qaida operate in this area and routinely murder anybody who embraces other faiths. 2 Corinthians 4:4 perfectly describes this area: “the god of this age [Satan] has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.”
Missionaries all over the world risk their life and live on next to nothing to bring the Gospel to these lands. They need your help. They need you praying and fasting for them along with real action.
And let’s not forget areas close to home. Your community has impoverished people that need you to not look past them but instead, to embrace them. God doesn’t call His people to minister to only those that walk through church doors. God wants His people going to places others would normally avoid.
Maybe it’s time to go on a mission trip or feed the poor. Let’s not just pray for missions. Let’s make our revolution an act of service. Maybe God wants you to go on a missions or trip or help your community in a practical and tangible way. God calls each of us to reach the lost. Ask Him how He would have you do it.
