Menu Choices

MAY 27TH, 2021      |     A vast majority of restaurants today include not only the price of their menu items, but also the calorie content. I don’t know about you, but I have a love/hate relationship with that. I love it because it gives information needed to make wise choices. I hate it, because what usually sounds good has an entire day’s worth of calories in it. Then we’re faced with choosing what’s good for us, or what our appetite wants. The choice is ours, and the restaurant certainly won’t make it for us. We must choose, and then live with the consequences of that decision.

God gave us a menu for life—the Bible. In it are options for good or bad, right or wrong. There are rewards for right choices and disciplines for wrong choices. The book of Proverbs is dedicated to giving us knowledge that leads to wisdom to help us make good choices. The choice to walk a godly life, to choose what’s good for us instead of following our appetite is entirely up to us. God won’t make it for us. When we choose to follow God’s path, there are no regrets. Choose to live a righteous life today.

Menu Choices

…choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

–Joshua 24:15 NIV

Choosing God’s ways carries great reward.

Pray for strength and wisdom to make right choices in the face of temptation. God is strong when we are weak.
