SEPTEMBER 23RD, 2021 | John 13 explains the events that happened just before the Passover Festival. Jesus knew He was about to go to the Cross. At this point, Satan had already prompted Judas to betray Jesus. Despite knowing what was to come, Jesus never lost control of the situation. He knew that He was soon returning to the Father, and that all things were under His feet.
At this evening meal, Jesus took off His outer clothing and wrapped a towel around His waist. He poured water into a basin and washed the disciples’ feet. Then Jesus dried their feet with the towel around His waist. Peter became indignant that Jesus wanted to wash His feet. But when Jesus told Peter that unless He washed his feet, he could have no part of Him, Peter asked that his hands and head also be washed.
Jesus was teaching His disciples to lead with a servant’s heart. Are we leading with a servant’s heart, looking for people to serve even in the midst of our busy lives? Despite the craziness that may be raging around us, are we maintaining control and trusting God is in control, just as Jesus did? Let’s learn from Jesus’ example.
Maintain Control

Spend time thanking God that Satan has no power over you!
Father, thank You for always being in control of my life even when I think my life is out of control.
