You have decided the length of our lives. You know how many months we will live, and we are not given a minute longer. –Job 14:5 NLT
From our conception, God knew every hair on our head and His plan for each of our lives. Our names are written in The Lamb’s Book of Life. We will face many trials that we don’t always understand.
However, we know that His love for us is unending. Tears and pain are part of life, unfortunately. It is normal to experience grief when we lose someone dear. We grieve and shed tears and are filled with an overwhelming feeling of great loss.
In the Bible, we read “Jesus wept” (John 11:35) when Lazarus died. Jesus felt every emotion we do while He was here on earth. Our hope is in the end of the story, for death does not have the final word. Loss can be great, and the only peace in this world comes from our Strong Tower, Refuge, and Strength—Jesus.
We need to pray and ask our heavenly Father to sustain us and carry us through the heartache. We should never doubt His power and love. Reverend Billy Graham said, “The moment we take our last breath on earth, we take our first in heaven.” Once we get to heaven, there will be no more tears, suffering, or pain.
Thank God that you can have hope because Jesus won the final victory.
Pray for God’s strength to see you through the dark times.
