Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. -Ephesians 6:10 NIV
Ephesians 6 says that people are not the real enemy; but there is a real enemy who means to defeat you. How do you battle the real enemy?
1) Ask the Lord for discernment. “Wisdom brightens a man’s face and changes its hard appearance,” Ecclesiastes 8:1 (NIV84). James 1:5 (NIV84) says, “If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault and it will be given to him.” When God opens your eyes to see things as He sees them, it’s easier to deal with the situation because you can see straight to the truth of the matter.
2) Dress for success. “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes,” Ephesians 6:11 (NIV). God wants you to succeed, which is why He tells you to dress in the full armor of the Lord, enabling you to stand.
Your enemy will use whatever and whomever he can to get you to fail and fall. But you don’t have to be defeated, because Christ overcame the world and He came so that you could have life to the fullest, (John 16:33; 10:10). Remember you are an overcomer because Christ lives in you, so stand in His mighty power.
