For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. -Lamentations 3: 22b-23 NIV
There’s a lot to be said about true compassion. Unlike mere sympathy that looks in from the outside with pity, compassion comes from the inside. It mourns with those who mourn, grieves with those who grieve. It walks the extra mile and gives grace to the undeserving.
It is love at the core and the very character of God shown through Jesus who demonstrated compassion to social outcasts, those least valued, the unseen, those sick, dying, grief stricken, discouraged, the thief on the cross. His ultimate act of compassion was the sacrifice of love as He was beaten and nailed to a cross. And it lives on for you today.
It never stops and it never fails. Each and every day there is a fresh new dose. Whatever you may be facing, trust that He cares and He will faithfully step in again to deliver you and show you compassion. He is touched by your circumstance and He will never fail you. Believe it.
- Thank God for the compassion and faithfulness He has shown you personally.
- Pray that you would show compassion to others as God has shown you.
