Let Your Past Go

It’s easy to look back and ponder some of the choices you have made. What if you managed your money better, what if you got a different degree, or chose a different job?

It’s also easy to compare your life to those around you. Your friend has a giant house while you’re struggling to make financial ends meet. Those questions will act like a weight– a downward, spiraling weight. They don’t propel you toward anything God wants you involved with.

In Isaiah 43:1 the Bible says, “’Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine!’” When God calls you, He gives you His name. God has called us by His name, His reputation, and His power. So when you make choices and feel you are so far from where you think you should be, consult the One whose name you carry, and who carries you. God’s Word says you are to NOT ponder the things—the choices, circumstances—from your past. They don’t do you any good. Instead, you are to look ahead to all that God is and wants to do in your life. Even though you may have made poor choices, God’s Word promises that He will use all things for your good, because He has called you.
