He asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter answered, “You are the Messiah, whom God has sent.”
–Luke 9:20 GW
When your relationship with someone grows and becomes more intimate, you conjure up meaningful names that exemplify the individual. What about Christ, your Lord? From A to Z, who is Jesus to you?
Perhaps your list may include some of these notable names:
Advocate. Bread of Life. Christ. Deliverer. Eternal Life. Faithful and True. Good Shepherd. Hope of Glory. Immanuel. Judge of the Living and the Dead. King of Kings. Lord of All. Messiah. Name Above All Names. Our Great God and Savior. Prince of Peace. Quick to Rescue. Redeemer. Son of God. The Truth and the Way. Union. Victory. Wonderful Counselor. eXalted. Yoke Lifter. Zealous for Me. Amen!
Jesus said, “I am the A and the Z,” says the Lord God, the one who is, the one who was, and the one who is coming, the Almighty (Revelation 1:8 GW). In your devotional time with God today, perhaps you’d like to compile an A to Z list representing who Jesus is to you and what God’s Word says He is. Blessed be His name!
- Praise the Lord that, We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God (John 6:69 NIV).
