OCTOBER 7TH, 2021 | It was a case of misplaced ownership that led to the fall of humankind. The Lord gave clear instructions to His first children on earth, Adam and Eve, saying, “You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.” (Genesis 2:17 NIV). Yet, they gave in to the temptation from the enemy and ate the forbidden fruit. Ultimately, it was a futile attempt to gain something that was rightfully not theirs in the first place, and their actions created severe consequences for the entire human race.
We are entrusted with a portion of God’s resources: our time, family, home, car, financial resources, gifts, abilities—everything is His. When we give to support His work, we are only returning what is rightfully His in the first place. When we embrace the truth that everything belongs to God, it causes us to realize that we must hold on loosely to all that God has provided us and seek His face for wisdom so that we are faithful stewards for the short time we have on earth.
It All Belongs to God
For every animal of the forest is mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills. I know every bird in the mountains, and the insects in the fields are mine. If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is mine, and all that is in it.
–Psalm 50:10-12 NIV

Father, is there something in my life that I have not completely given over to You? Help me to do so today!
Father, thank You for how You have provided for me. Help me look for opportunities to give back to You and support the Kingdom of God.
