Independence Day

JULY 4TH, 2021      |     Hooray for Independence Day! Today is the celebration of the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America—one nation under God! Many will be enjoying family time together with picnics, parades, concerts, and, of course, fireworks.

Declaring independence from Great Britain 245 years ago united the 13 colonies with self-evident truths: “that all men (and women) are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” From the very beginning of the United States, God was and continues to be the foundation.

Although not quite as evident in society as God used to be—prayer in school, public display of the Ten Commandments, etc.—there is no doubt that the majority of Americans (75% identify themselves as Christians) believe that God is the Creator, and Jesus Christ is His Son who sacrificed His life to redeem His people.

It’s time to declare your DEPENDENCE on the One who loved you before you were even born and designed you to bring liberty and justice for all—through Christ your Lord. Hallelujah!

Thank God today for the men and women who declared the independence of this great nation.

Pray that believers will have the courage and conviction declare their dependence on God Almighty in every situation.
