Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone. –Colossians 4:5-6 NLT
I Just Can’t “People” Today
Just look at most social media sites and you will generally find some sort of quote about how “I just can’t people today.”
We are called to love, encourage, and help one another (Romans 12:9-16). Yes, we are imperfect beings capable of being annoying, rude, and frankly sometimes unlovable, but we are also imperfect beings capable of love, friendship, and kindness.
Let’s say, “I’m sorry” when it is necessary to do so, and let’s do our best to live with a little more patience and compassion for others. Maybe then we will read more quotes like, “I will love you even if you don’t feel like loving me today.” After all, love does cover all (1 Peter 4:8).
Compliment someone who may not be kind toward you. Show people love even if they aren’t at the point in life where they can return love to you.
Ask God to soften your heart toward others and to give you patience when having to deal with difficult people.
