How Sweet the Sound

OCTOBER 29TH, 2020      |      “Amazing grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me…” Published more than 200 years ago, many, if not most, Christians know John Newton’s song by heart. Many, if not most, have found comfort and peace singing or reciting the words during times of trouble and trauma. Moses found grace in the Lord’s sight and he led God’s people out of Egypt—from slavery to freedom.

It is so easy to take His grace for granted. Like Moses, if we are repentant and ask God to bless us with His grace, He will. Moses said, “If now I have found grace in Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray…pardon our iniquity and our sin, and take us as Your inheritance” (Exodus 34:9 NKJV).

Are you still a slave to self-imposed guilt and shame? “I once was lost but now am found, was blind but now I see.” Psalm 84:11 says the Lord God is our sun and shield and He will give grace and glory to all who walk righteously. May you be always be thankful for His amazing grace and love, as you ask for His forgiveness.

So the Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight, and I know you by name.”

Pray that the Lord will shower you with His grace and mercy and that you will receive it with thankfulness and sincerity.

Pray that as your heavenly Father gifts you with His grace that you will walk justly, righteously, and in His truth and love.
