Hopeless to You Is Opportunity to God

Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and forsake wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evildoing. For evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait for the Lord, they will inherit the land. Yet a little while and the wicked man will be no more; And you will look carefully for his place and he will not be there. -Psalm 37:7-10 NASB

Ask any football player and they’ll tell you that 100 yards is long distance—often intimidating. To the person watching on TV, the same field seems small. When you’re under attack, the road seems never-ending, but in God’s eyes it’s a short detour on the journey of life. He has it completely under control while you’re seeing no way out.

Don’t fret. Instead, wait on the Lord because those who have come against you will be dealt with. Doubt says, “God hasn’t taken care of this, so I guess I’ll have to.” But waiting a little while produces supernatural growth. Maybe you’re looking at those 100 yards and see only defeat. God says be still, don’t let discontent push you to act on your own. Wait for Him to move you to victory.
