Try This at Home and Everywhere

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” –John 14:12 NLT

You’ve seen it on television shows and heard it said, “Now, I have over 20 years of experience. This is not something you attempt at home.” Something like “eating fire” might not be a good thing to try at home, but believing God always answers your prayers is. The basis for this is found in the following passage of scripture:

“I tell you the truth, anyone who believes in me will do the same works I have done, and even greater works, because I am going to be with the Father.” –John 14:12 NLT

I honest-to-God don’t know how a person could “misunderstand” this verse. Jesus Christ encouraged His followers to get out there and do what He did.

If you are a Christ-follower, do try this at home:

For the next week, experiment with a little exercise in identity and humility.

Pray dangerous prayers!

Say, “God always answers my prayers” aloud to yourself. Try it on for size. See how you like it. Just like your favorite pair of shoes, it might feel a little uncomfortable at first. But I’m betting over time the fit will loosen up.

Who knows? You may find yourself saying, “God always answers my prayers,” without thinking twice.

That’s when transformation takes place. Who knows? Life might get real exciting for you as prayers get answered faster than you even dreamed possible!

Prayer Focus

  • Seek to know your identity and Christ.
  • Pray for God to help you strengthen your faith and trust the things He says.
