His Sufficient Grace

JULY 30TH, 2021      |  The apostle Paul tells us in 2 Corinthians 12:7 that he was given a thorn in his flesh. Although there has been a lot of speculation about what the thorn was, no one really knows for sure. Was it partial vision loss? Was there some kind of facial disfigurement? Was there a temptation that tormented him? Could his past be the source of this thorn that brought him so much agony that he pleaded with the Lord three times to remove the thorn from him?

What is your thorn, my friend? What are you living with that is tormenting you on a daily basis? Regardless of what it is, you are not alone. As Paul asked to be delivered from his malady, the Lord said, “My grace is sufficient.” God’s unmerited grace is sufficient for us all. He gives us strength and power to push through every battle. He helps us press on to the finish line, where His power is made perfect in us.

Whatever your thorn is, surrender it to your King Jesus! He will sustain you and keep you in His righteous right hand. Be still and wait patiently for His deliverance (see Psalm 37:7).

His Sufficient Grace

Heavenly Father, I pray that Your power will be made perfect in my weakness. Thank You for loving me so personally.

Holy Spirit, rise up within me to do battle against the flesh and help me to be more than a conqueror.
