His Glory-Filled Temple

JULY 16TH, 2021      |    Can any of us even begin to fathom the sheer glory of the scene that Isaiah describes in Isaiah chapter 6? He saw the Lord. He saw Him high and lifted up, and His train filled the temple. Breathtaking hardly describes this scene.

But notice the precursor: in the year King Uzziah died. That is not just a footnote. It provides much-needed context. You see, Isaiah and Uzziah were close confidants. Could it be that Uzziah had to be removed so Isaiah could see the glory that was revealed to him?

When blockages to intimacy are removed and we get close to God, we “see” Him high and exalted. His awesomeness translates from being mere mental assent into strong spiritual connection. And oh yes, His glory will fill His temple. That temple is you. That temple is us. Isn’t that glorious?

His Glory-Filled Temple

Lord, remove the barriers to my intimacy with You!

Lord, may Your glory fill this temple!
