The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand. –Psalm 37:23-24 NIV
Psalm 57:10 says that God’s faithfulness reaches to the heavens, and Psalm 100:5 says that God’s faithfulness continues throughout all generations. This means that God’s faithfulness is eternal; it will never end.
When we stand firm and trust in our Creator, when we become totally dependent on the Lover of our soul, when we remain firm in our faith and trust in Him, He delights in us. His promise to you and to me is that if we stumble, we will not fall. My brothers and sisters, we will not fall because He will catch us. And if we stumble, He will pick us up, mend our bruise, love on us with His whole heart, and then He will make us whole again.
So do not fear, for the Holy One of Israel is with you. Do not be dismayed for He is your God. He will strengthen you and help you; He will uphold, defend, and support you with His righteous right hand (see Isaiah 41:10). Come on church, let us praise our heavenly Father for His unending faithfulness and daily care of us. Amen.
Father, please help me to trust in Your faithfulness during my times of weakness.
Holy Spirit, please give me the strength and ability to stay focused on You in times of weakness.
