They are being tested by many troubles, and they are very poor. But they are also filled with abundant joy, which has overflowed in rich generosity.
–2 Corinthians 8:2 NLT
God wants you to be blessed. He does not want to hold anything back from you.
Sometimes in life you think having more money is the answer to all your problems. Money can’t give you peace or true happiness. There are many wealthy people who are not content; in fact, many will say they were happier when they had much less.
Decisions and opportunities based on a dollar value can become big mistakes. God wants you to be blessed financially, but He also wants you to be a blessing to others. It is not the amount of your possessions and wealth, but how you share it all. You would be amazed at the contentment this can bring.
Remember what our Lord tells us in Matthew 6:24 (NIV), No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Have a grateful heart with what you have and where you are in life. Use what God has given you to bless others. That is a heavenly perspective—one to consider.
- Thank God for all He has given you.
- Pray for the gift of generosity so you can be a blessing to others.
