Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. –1 Peter 4:12 NIV
He Walks Right Beside Us
There are seasons in life. Some are filled with joy and others sorrow. Some seasons are short-lived while others seem long-lasting. During these times in life, our emotions shift. One minute we are filled with praise and the next filled with pain that is overwhelming.
As Psalm 23:4 (NIV) tells us, “Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” This verse clearly states that we are not walking alone—God is right beside us. That makes all the difference. He is our strength when we are weak. His comfort, grace, and mercy will get us through every heartache.
John 16:33 (NLT) says, “I have told you all this so that you may have peace in me. Here on earth you will have many trials and sorrows. But take heart, because I have overcome the world.” We have to hold on to these words and trust that every season is seen by our loving Father. We may never fully understand why things happen, but remember that this is not our permanent home. In Heaven, every season will be made perfect.
Father, I am not strong; fill me with Your love and hope.
Dear God, please give me strength when I am weak.
