Have You Been Squeezed?

NOVEMBER 10TH, 2021      |     If you squeeze an orange, you get orange juice. It would be weird to get anything else. When you squeeze a Christian, you should get Jesus, not the same reaction you’d get from an unbeliever. Sometimes it’s hard to tell which is which. Yet how did Jesus respond when He was squeezed?

Matthew 7:12 (ESV) says, “So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” When the religious leaders brought the woman caught in adultery to Jesus, how did He respond? Did He condemn or humiliate her? Those who claimed to follow God were ready to stone her, but Jesus responded with compassion, mercy, grace, and forgiveness. “Go and sin no more,” Jesus told the woman (John 8:11 NKJV).

On the Cross, after being beaten and spit upon, Jesus prayed, “Father, forgive them, for they know not what they do” (Luke 23:34 ESV). He didn’t call fire down from Heaven to destroy them; instead, He prayed for them. Throughout Scripture, you can see how Jesus responded to every ill-treatment He received. Each and every time He responded with love.

Walk with Him, work with Him, and watch Jesus do life. Follow His example.

Have You Been Squeezed

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

Ask God to help you when you are squeezed to search the Word for wisdom, wait to respond, not react.

Jesus, help me to walk with You and learn Your ways; Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light!
