Even in old age they will still produce fruit; they will remain vital and green.
–Psalm 92:14 NLT
Old age does not mean ineffectiveness. Some people anguish over their passing years, they live in the past, thinking of what was. However, growing older has value. We gain wisdom with age and can share with others our awareness, knowledge, and judgment learned throughout the years. There can be a feeling of contentment and thankfulness when focused on remaining vital. Let’s all look at life from eyes of faith—trusting God.
Unavoidable challenges may slow you down, but that is part of naturally advancing years. Recall blessings in your life as Psalm 116:7 (NIV) says, Return to your rest, my soul, for the Lord has been good to you. It is not the number of years, but how they are lived. Live them well and be an example of a man or woman of faith. Throughout the Bible God used men and women mightily in their old age. God will use you till the end of your days as well.
- Pray and ask God for His strength during every season of your life.
- Thank the Lord for every day He gives to you.
