Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. –Hebrews 4:16 NIV
How do we approach the throne of grace in our time of need? Are we afraid? Do we feel unworthy to come to the Lord? We need not ever fear. We need not hesitate to go in confidence before the Father “…since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God….” (Hebrews 4:14 NIV). After He rose, Jesus sent to us an intercessor (the Holy Spirit) who is forever going before our heavenly Father for you and for me. “…the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” (Romans 8:27 NIV)“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.” (Hebrews 4:15 NIV) Through grace, His favor, as unmerited as it is, is given freely and abundantly to His children.Jesus, the Son of Man, became sin. He became the stench of this world in order to present us to His Father, unblemished through the cleansing blood of the Lamb. He died, paid the price, and redeemed us back to our heavenly Father. Let us now come boldly before His throne.
Holy Spirit, help us to understand the fullness and enormity of Your grace!
Empower us, heavenly Father, with Your Holy Spirit, so that we may come with boldness to Your throne of grace.
